
Mr. Tribhuvan Darbari, Chairman of the National Part – SCO Business Council Secretariat, India, Chairman of the India–Russia Business Council, and Managing Director & CEO of Texmaco Defence Systems Pvt. Ltd., recently concluded a highly impactful visit to the Russian Federation. His meetings with top Russian ministers, industry leaders, and corporate executives underscored the expanding opportunities for India–Russia cooperation across railways, defence, chemicals, fertilizers, AI, and new-age technologies.
Meetings with Russian Leadership
During his visit, Mr. Darbari held wide-ranging discussions with:
H.E. Mr. Andrey Nikitin, Hon’ble Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation – focusing on railway modernization, tunneling, bridges, and the use of advanced technologies such as AI and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) for powering infrastructure.
H.E. Mr. Anton Alikhanov, Hon’ble Minister of Industry and Trade – exploring industrial modernization, technology transfers, and bilateral trade opportunities.
H.E. Mr. Alexey Gruzdev, Hon’ble Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce – strengthening cooperation in chemicals, petrochemicals, and fertilizers.
Mr. Sergey Stolyarov, General Director, RZD International – Russian Railways – on avenues for collaboration with Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. in freight corridors, high-axle load wagons, heavy-haul capabilities, and green rail solutions.
Industry-Level Engagements
Mr. Darbari also met with CEOs and top management of leading Russian corporations, including UralChem, RusChem, Metafrax, and VTB Bank executives. These interactions resulted in proposals for:
Joint ventures in fertilizers (Urea, DAP, NPK, Ammonia) and glyphosate production.
Railway modernization and EPC partnerships, where Texmaco Rail & Engineering can play a leading role.
AI-driven logistics, counter-drone technologies, and digital platforms for defence and infrastructure.
Aligning with India’s Vision
Mr. Darbari’s visit was aligned with the vision set forth by India’s Hon’ble Railway Minister, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Hon’ble External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, who recently engaged with Russian leaders to expand cooperation in transport, infrastructure, and technology.
By reinforcing India–Russia partnerships under frameworks like Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India – Make for the World, and the SCO platform, the visit has set the stage for long-term collaborations that go beyond trade, driving strategic and technological integration across Eurasia.
