India and Russia share a relationship rooted in trust and strategic partnership. But with the world moving fast towards AI, green technologies, defence innovation, and modern rail systems, the bond between the two nations is entering an exciting new chapter.
During his recent visit to Moscow, Mr. Tribhuvan Darbari – one of India’s most respected industry leaders and Chairman of the India–Russia Business Council – met with some of Russia’s most influential figures.
From railways to defence, fertilizers to AI, the discussions were forward-looking and full of potential:
With Mr. Sergey Stolyarov, General Director of RZD International (Russian Railways), he explored collaboration for modern freight corridors, high-speed connectivity, and advanced railway technologies. Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd., under his leadership, is poised to be a natural partner in these projects.
With H.E. Mr. Andrey Nikitin, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, the dialogue stretched to futuristic energy solutions like Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMRs) to power rail and industrial infrastructure.
Meetings with UralChem, RusChem, Metafrax, and VTB Bank executives opened avenues for fertilizer joint ventures, EPC collaborations, and large-scale modernization projects.
AI and digital technologies were also in focus, with discussions on predictive monitoring, smart logistics, and defence applications such as UAVs and counter-drone systems.
What makes this visit stand out is its timing. As India pushes ahead with Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India – Make for the World, and as Russia seeks new markets and partnerships in a changing global order, both nations are uniquely placed to build future-ready collaborations.
Mr. Darbari’s engagements reaffirmed one key point: India–Russia cooperation is not only about trade, but also about co-creating technologies, building sustainable infrastructure, and shaping a new global narrative of partnership.
This visit may well become a turning point – transforming opportunities into tangible collaborations that benefit not just India and Russia, but the entire SCO region and beyond.
